DATA / 10 yachts in the 50-60 range to keep an eye on this year

With the most important boat show of the sector – the Monaco Yacht Show – just cancelled from the shipyards’ calendar 2020, all digital activities become much more relevant for all those who have a business or personal interest in the sector. Here below a selection of new builds not to miss this year in the 50/60m range. Some have already been launched and delivered at the beginning of the year, while others will leave the shed in the second part of the year.

56m – Project Lombok (NB72) – Turquoise Yachts

Launched in Instanbul in May 2020, the new Blue II, formerly known as Project Lombok, by Turquoise Yachts, is a 56m explorer designed by André Hoek. Blue II is conceived as a unique vessel reminiscent of classic steam ships, yet built to be an exploration yacht for the 21st century. Her exterior styling and interior design, created with the latest technology by Hoek Design using CFD software, shows a classic profile with a contemporary twist. Delivery is on target and scheduled for early July.

55,5m – Blue Ocean – Damen Yachting

The latest new build of the popular 55-metre Yacht Support hit the water at DAMEN’s yard in Antalya last March. Named BLUE OCEAN, she is the 8th launch of the 55-metre YS 5009 (182 ft) design and will be available for immediate delivery this spring. The launch of BLUE OCEAN highlights the multipurpose role of Yacht Support vessels. She is the first Yacht Support built with a large multipurpose Main Deck hangar, which can be used for submersible and dive operations, or as a vehicle garage or workshop. The vessel reaches speeds above 20 knots with a crew of 7 and extra accommodation for 4 staff, pilots, security or guides. Among her new features, she has a reduced draught suitable for Bahamas operations (3 metres).

55,2m – GECO – Admiral

The new 55,2m build by Admiral, M/Y Geco, is scheduled for delivery this year. The yacht will be available for charter in the Mediterranean this summer: the yacht is promising to have some fantastic features and large deck spaces, offering overnight deluxe accommodation for up to 12 charter guests, serviced by a professional and highly-trained crew of 13.

55m – C123 – Codecasa

The yard started the outfitting process last August. The 55m yacht was due for delivery this summer but because of the covid-19 emergency the yard had to stop production and confirmed that the fully custom four-deck build will be delivered with some delay but soon. The technical project has been totally developed by the yard in-house team, while the interiors will be designed by the Owner’s interior Designer in co-operation with the Yard Style Department.

55m – Galene – Amels

Amels launched their latest unit from the successful Limited Editions 180 range last March. The 55-metre yacht Galene has the exterior design by Tim Heywood and interior by Laura Sessa Romboli. Her name derives from Ancient Greek, where Galene means serenity, tranquillity and calmness.

54,6m – BAGLIETTO 54M – Baglietto

With hull number 10231, the new 54m build by Baglietto is scheduled for launch this year. This yacht marks the first collaboration with Horacio Bozzo Design which created this sleek and catchy lines. The displacement hull is also based on a brand new naval platform expressly tailored for this project. During the tank tests carried out at the CNR’s ship model basin in Rome, the yard achieved the highest performance with smaller engines, an advantage for everybody also in terms of environmental impact.

54,4 – MAJESTY 175 – Gulf Craft

The new build by UAE-based Gulf Craft is scheduled for delivery in June 2020. The custom 54m Majesty 175 was designed – exteriors and interiors – by Italian design studio Cristiano Gatto. The yacht is for sale with an asking price of USD 35,000,000.

52m – 52 steel “Lady Lena” – Sanlorenzo (3 boats)

The fourth 52m superyacht from the Sanlorenzo 52 Steel range was launched at the beginning of this year and construction will last through the year until delivery in the late winter months of 2020. Four further units of the 499 GT range are currently under construction at the Italian shipyard. The model has the in-house naval architecture with exterior designs by the Italian yacht designer Mauro Micheli of Officina Italiana Design and interior design by Sanlorenzo.

50m – ISA CLASSIC 50M – ISA YACHTS

ISA Classic 50 metre blends ultimate luxury with superior performance in an elegant design package under 500 GT. With a maximum range in excess of 3,500 nautical miles, ISA Classic 50 metre is able of first-class transoceanic cruising. Her top speed is 15.0kn and her power comes from a Caterpillar engine. She was designed by Team For Design with Arrabito Naval Architects developing the naval architecture. Sold in 2017, the yacht will be delivered this year.

Tankoa Yachts announced the sale of the third unit of S501 last March. The third hull in its all-aluminium 50-metre series designed by Francesco Paszkowski was started on speculation by the Genoese shipyard. S501 has a semi-displacement hull combined with conventional diesel propulsion for a top speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. The 500GT tri-decker will have a striking paint scheme with a black hull and black/metallic grey superstructure. The exclusive interior design will be the responsibility of Casadio Miami from the owner’s personal team. S501 is currently 75 percent complete and will be delivered to her owner later this year.
