[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n Mandello del Lario, a charming town on Lake Como, all is set for the opening of Villa Lario. On Saturday, May 2, the day after the opening of the Universal Exhibition, a gala dinner will mark the opening of the new location in the luxury resort and the beginning of a partnership with the chefs of Euro-Toques International, an organisation of professional cooks promoting and protecting Europe’s culinary heritage. The organisation, led by Henry Derflingher since January, has transfered its headquarters to the shores of Lake Como during the six months of Expo 2015 and will hold a series of events with famous international chefs.
Celebrities, heads of state and royalty from all over Europe will attend. Villa Lario has been modernised to accommodate the guests. Its technological equipment has been updated, a home automation system has been installed and interior furnishings upgraded to the highest standards, without affecting the building’s beautiful exterior. The villa has been equipped with a helipad and a private water entrance that allows exclusive access to the resort in addition to a dual dock at the lake. A new control room monitors the resort, so guests can sleep soundly within the area’s outer walls with hedges up to four metres high. Villa Lario also has a large function room which can hold up to 140 people and a new Electrolux Green Spirit professional kitchen, the top of the line in catering technology. It is a modern location, ideal for events, forums, meetings or any high-profile ceremonies for tourists who want exclusivity and privacy…
