Moonen unveils 49.50m motor yacht model Monito

Moonen has revealed the largest design in its Caribbean range, a 49.5 metre fast displacement yacht called Monito. Designed by René van der Velden, this fast displacement motor yacht boasts efficient fuel consumption levels, a long range at economical speeds and excellent seakeeping performance. Lloyd’s and MCA compliant, Monito was developed in response to a client request with a total interior volume of less than 500GT.

Depending on the layout chosen, the yacht can accommodate up to 10/12 guests in a full-beam master suite situated on the main deck and in four/five guest staterooms on the lower deck. On this latter deck are also located four/five crew cabins for 8/10 members, whilst the captain’s stateroom is on the bridge deck.

The forepeak of the vessel features a recessed tender bay with lifting platform, a storage solution that saves lots of gross tonnage. In addition, the Moonen‘s R&D department is working on ways to use the tender bay as a salt water pool.

Powered by two Caterpillar C32 ACERT 1,417kW diesel engines, Monito has a maximum speed of 18.5 knots, a cruising speed of 16 knots, and a range of 3,900nm at 11 knots.

Other superyacht projects currently under development at Moonen include the 36 metre Project Martinique, whose launch is scheduled next year.
