Monte Carlo unveils MCY 105 in Venice.

As announced at the 2014 Cannes Yachting Festival, the MCY 105 has been unveiled today in Venice in a private preview, where five years ago the Franco-Italian company launched its very first yacht, the MCY 76, and redefined the very paradigms of boat design with its collection of timeless yachts.

logo mcy“The unveiling of the MCY 105 coincides with Monte Carlo Yachts’ fifth Anniversary, a moment marked by important achievements to date, and a turning point, a milestone, for what’s to come”. Said Carla Demaria, President of Monte Carlo Yachts. “We are back in Venice where it all started to demonstrate that we kept our promises and more. We started from scratch during the global financial crisis with a clear mission, to expand Group Beneteau’s – the world leading yacht manufacturer – presence by successfully entering the over 20mt motor yacht sector. Not an easy job. We knew we needed to become a reference in our industry through a simple strategy: we didn’t want to built luxury yachts, we wanted to built excellent yachts. The MCY 105 is the best expression of our vision and the most tangible exemplification to date of this strategy”.

At 32 meters, the MCY 105 is Monte Carlo Yachts’ fleet largest yacht, and its construction is the natural outcome of the company’s significant investments at its production site in Monfalcone, Italy.

MCY 105 Interiors

The design of the new MCY 105 has been entrusted once again to Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard, who have invested all their talent and experience in creating mega yachts into developing a 32-metre vessel with exclusive features that epitomises Monte Carlo Yachts’ signature, evocative style. “A yacht is beautiful because it sails”, says Carlo Nuvolari, “and the MCY 105 perfectly expresses the distinctive naval attributes of the range. The MCY 105 a pleasure to use as well as admire as it sails towards the horizon”.

Featuring the MCY collection’s iconic design elements such as a perfect balance of the hull and superstructure, a painstaking attention given to proportions, and an inherent dynamism of the lines coupled with a glowing distribution of light in the interiors, the MCY 105 is elegant and instantly recognisable, and the imposing bulwarks and high bow award the yacht with the naval allure so distinctive of the timeless MCY style.

The interior spaces onboard the MCY 105 are incredibly voluminous, with solutions that are normally possible only on authentic mega yachts: the large Portuguese deck at the bow; the flybridge with equipment and living space, which are unmatched in its class: the unique and ergonomic Raised Pilot House that gives maximum comfort to the master cabin – located on the main deck – with full beam and giant, full-size windows.

“We have worked together with Monte Carlo Yachts to create something consistent with their strategy that went beyond luxury and was quite simply excellent”, says Dan Lenard. “In many ways what we set out to do was to go beyond the trends and fads of fashion and luxury to become an instant classic of the future. I believe that the MCY 105 is exactly that”. Says Dan Lenard.

Following the Venice preview, the MCY 105 will be on show at the Cannes Yachting Festival (September 8 – 13), the Monaco Yacht Show (September 23 – 26), and the Genoa International Boat Show (September 30 – October 5).
