Lürssen | Codenames “Jupiter”, “Tis” and the mysterious 130metre

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]hey are known with the code names “Project Jupiter” and “Project Tis”, totally they measure over 230 meters in lenght. They are signed by H2 Yacht Design, the former, and by British studio Winch Design, the latter.

They are the two recent official launches at Lurssen shipyard in October, beyond a further unnamed 130 metre superyacht that has “misteriously” come to light at the beginning of November.

The 123m Project Jupiter (cover photo) is a very unique design incorporating many striking features. With exterior design by H2Yacht Design and interiors by March & White the yacht is scheduled for delivery in spring 2017. For both design teams this is their first Lürssen yacht.

March & White have designed a contemporary interior throughout the vessel defined by timeless styling, nautical details and highly innovative bespoke finishes. With a beam of 20m her interior atrium opens up the center of the yacht to pull natural light deep into the yacht. The result is a yacht interior that is highly responsive and impeccably detailed.

Despite her size, her styling radiates a very sporty and aggressive look with balanced proportions, similar to the owner’s first yacht, and will stun the Hollywood crowd. Her arching design features and large glass facades provide panoramic views from her eclectic interior. The combination of these influential design statements make her instantly recognizable as a truly distinctive and innovative superyacht.

As to the second project, TIS embodies everything the owner desires for a seamless lifestyle afloat. Launched on 19th October 2016, Project TIS is scheduled for delivery in 2018. A quintessential 111m yacht, with exterior and interior design by Winch Design and project managed by Moran Yacht & Ship. The launch took place just 11 months after the keel was laid.

In the press statement the yard said: “With her long and well balance sheerline, TIS is a supremely elegant yacht, despite her considerable size. With a beam of 16.85m she boasts extraordinary volumes accommodating all of the Owner’s requirements. TIS features six decks and offers spacious Interior and Exterior areas for guests, making her the perfect yacht for entertaining on a grand scale. The sweeping staircases at the transom create an impressive entrance which sets the tone for the rest of this palatial yacht, with very generous ceiling heights, sophisticated interior decoration and the attention to detail which is fundamental to any Lürssen/Winch project”.

As to the above mentioned 130-metre, the five-deck superyacht could be “Project Redwood”, the 139 metre by Nuvolari Lenard sold by Moran Yacht & Ship in 2015. However, no press outlet has been officially informed so far. In Lürssen’s order book there are another two creations by Winch Design, the 135-metre Project Thor (74m, 2016) and Project Palo Alto (112m, 2018).
