Aeris, the first shared ownership programme

The Eclipse 550, the new production twin-engine jet from Eclipse Aerospace, features best in class performance, economics, and safety.

Featuring 6 seats, with the ability to fly at altitudes up to 41,000 feet, at a max cruise of 430 mph, all while consuming less than 200 litres of fuel per hour in the cruise. This makes the Eclipse 550 the most efficient twin-engine jet on the planet.

Featuring brand new leading edge technology and safety features including Auto-Throttles, Anti-Skid Brakes, 3D Synthetic Vision, and Enhanced Vision avionics makes the Eclipse 550 not only the lowest cost twin engine jet in the world, but also one of the most technologically advanced and safe jets.

Aeris Aviation Ltd are chaired by rock star and aviation legend Bruce Dickinson (lead singer of Iron Maiden and highly experienced airline 757 captain). Aeris are the independent European distributor for the Eclipse 550; they launched the first shared ownership programme in Europe for the very light jet.

The venture will operate on a private-ownership basis, with customers buying up to a one-sixth share in the $2.95 million Eclipse 550“This programme lowers the barrier to business aircraft ownership and makes private air transport accessible to a lot more people,”says Aeris founder and chief executive David Hayman. “It is such an exciting programme because the low operational costs and extremely high speed of the Eclipse, enable our owners to use the jet rather like a private limo with wings. For example, jet cost from London to Nice is around £3000 for up to 6 people. This is the lowest shared ownership programme in the world for any brand new jet. The programme is turnkey and offers full management covering the cost of crew, insurance, hangarage and maintenance. Costs are simple and transparent,  entry into the programme starts at around £400,000 (based on 6 people) with a monthly fee of £3500 and hourly rate of less than £1000 per hour.

“Exhibiting at the first London Jet and Yacht show is an exciting opportunity to meet with existing clients and potential customers in the capital. Our very light jet can operate from runways as short as 800m which opens up a number of London based airports including, Blackbushe Fairoaks and North Weald which allow us to avoid the huge landing and handling fees of the other respective bigger airports in and around London. Clearly speed and efficiency being the issue, these small airfields allow for quick and easy access rather than so much time being lost at either end of the journey through the large commercial airports. Our owners can park next to the jet and leave immediately”

“Efficiency and cost are the foundation and cornerstone of the Eclipse philosophy. There’s so much waste in Europe with the use of large private jets mainly flying with 2 or less passengers onboard. We do not believe in profligacy, we believe in safety efficiency and speed – we are the same speed as most other light jets and faster than some, but we cost a fraction of the acquisition and operating costs of all other twin engine jet comparisons. 80% of business jet flights in Europe have 4 or less people onboard including crew and are for less than 2 hours duration. This is all Eclipse territory and as a business tool, we can do these missions for far less cost than anyone”.
